Tap into your kids’ “Christmas creativity” by letting them make homemade Christmas decorations. Some of my most fond Christmas memories are those of my mother, sister and I making Christmas balls out of round sytrofoam balls, sequins and Christmas trim. Were they perfect? No. Were they special? Oh, yes. My mother kept them for many, many years. We also helped her make a beautiful Christmas table cloth and table runner from a Christmas craft kit that can be found at most any craft store during the holidays.
Special times like these not only strengthened our family bond, but also encouraged my sister and I to express ourselves creatively. There are many wonderful Christmas decorations that are easily made by any age group.
